Food system that prioritizes equity, health, and sustainability
Urban Health was created to support and operate The Food Trust's Farm-to-Retail / Healthy Food Aggregation 12-Month Pilot, a Camden-centered initiative designed to bring healthier foods directly into neighborhoods where access has been historically limited.
Backed by more than 30 years of expertise from The Food Trust, Urban Health works alongside trusted community partners—including Pinelands Preservation Alliance, PBCIP, and Karnival Foods—to build a sustainable network that supplies fresh produce, pre-cut fruits and vegetables, salads, and cold-pressed juices to corner stores, community businesses, and residents across Camden.
Urban Health is both a local aggregator and a community health partner, operating a brick-and-mortar location three days a week during the pilot while coordinating logistics, packaging, and distribution across the city. Together with our partners, we aim to uplift local retailers, expand access to nutritious grab-and-go foods, and strengthen Camden's local food economy.
